Cheney Interviewed by Brit Hume

Vice President Cheney will be interviewed today on Special Report with Brit Hume. The interview will be recorded a few hours before airtime.

Of course, as Rush Limbaugh said today, in the eyes of the mainstream media, Cheney appearing on Fox News Channel is no better than news being broken by a paper in Corpus Christi.

Meanwhile, don't miss Hugh Hewitt's The MSM Campaign Against Cheney. A Washington Post columnist, remarkably, has compared this incident to Ted Kennedy at Chappaquiddick. Hugh writes: "The MSM is unhinged, a victim of its Bush hatred...and the American people know it."

A question crossed my mind yesterday while pondering this incident. What if it had been the other way around. What if, for example, Vice-President Cheney had been injured. I'm thinking that right away we would all be wondering where his security detail was. How would it be possible for anyone to fire on VP Cheney. Wouldn't the Secret Service know exactly where the shooter, a member of the hunting party, was? Which led me to the following question: Why didn't the Secret Service know where Mr. W. was? How is it possible that the Secret Service didn't know and alert the Vice-President? I know that it is a hunter's responsibility to know where people are around him and not shoot unless 100% certain. I'm not trying to lessen that aspect. I just raise the question, is it possible that when you have a security detail 24/7 you might come to rely on your security detail to have that knowledge because your life is in their hands?

Interesting questions!

That reminds me, some people are suggested the V.P. didn't talk to law enforcement quickly enough. Isn't the Secret Service law enforcement? And they were on the scene...

TTYS! Laura
