Dodgers Off to Historic Start

The Los Angeles Dodgers have opened the season at a record-breaking pace.

Last night, their 10th win in a row at home, set a record for the number of home Dodger wins in a row to open the season.

Tonight, with their 11th win in a row, the team set a new National League record for consecutive home wins at the start of a season.

And they managed to do it despite hitting into a triple play!

Casey Blake was the first Dodger to hit into a triple play since Alfredo Griffin in 1991.

This was the first triple play to occur at Dodger Stadium in over a decade; Kurt Abbott of the Colorado Rockies hit into one in Los Angeles in 1998.

The Dodgers currently have the best record in the majors.

Tuesday Update: With their win at home again tonight, the Dodgers tied the modern baseball record for the fastest start at home.

They are the first team in nearly a century -- 98 years, to be exact -- to start a season with a 12-0 record at home.

The Dodgers have five games left in the homestand.

Wednesday Update: Dodgers Set Major League Record.
