Over the last couple years I've written two posts about efforts to restore a vandalized statue of Myrna Loy and return it to Venice High School.
Loy posed for the statue in 1923, when she was a teenager named Myrna Williams.
The restored statue was unveiled in a ceremony yesterday afternoon.
Speakers included Venice High School graduate Beau Bridges, who had a small role in Loy's film THE RED PONY (1949) when he was seven years old.
The L.A. Times has a brief video of the ceremony, including some of Bridges' speech and the unveiling of the statue.
Oh how neat! I would really like to check that statue out the next time i'm in LA.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Myrna was a true star!
ReplyDeleteThere has never been an actress since to match the dry wit, charm and vivaciousness of Myrna Loy.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent actress!
