Returning Myrna Loy to Venice High School

For over eight decades, a statue of Myrna Loy, sculpted when she was an unknown teenager, stood on the grounds of Venice High School in Southern California.

A few years ago the statue, suffering from age and vandalism, was put into storage. Nostalgic alumni, however, are working to change that and raising funds to restore the statue and return it to campus.

I think this is a wonderful project. I hope that, along with the statue being restored, the school's current students will have the chance to learn a little more about Myrna Loy and appreciate a special piece of Venice -- and cinema -- history.
