Notable Passings

...Silent film actress Barbara Kent has passed away at the age of 103.

Kent appeared in silents such as FLESH AND THE DEVIL (1926) with Greta Garbo and MODERN MOTHERS (1928) with Douglas Fairbanks Jr. She later appeared in sound films, including the Harold Lloyd talkies WELCOME DANGER (1929) and FEET FIRST (1930).

...Composer-arranger Pete Rugulo has died at the age of 95.

Rugulo, perhaps best known as the longtime arranger for Stan Kenton, wrote theme music for several TV series, including THE FUGITIVE.

...Leonard Maltin pays tribute to the late Norman Corwin, a "radio poet" who recently passed on at the age of 101.
