A Visit to Madame Tussauds Hollywood Wax Museum

The weekend before this year's TCM Classic Film Festival I enjoyed a visit to Madame Tussauds with a few other classic film bloggers.

Madame Tussauds is located on Hollywood Boulevard, near the Chinese Theatre. Guests take an elevator to the top of three floors and then follow a path through the exhibits, gradually circling back down to the ground floor.

The wax museum has a mixture of recent and older film stars; I believe there were more from the classic film era, but there were also a significant number of newer stars, such as Brad and Angie...

...and Meryl Streep.

I hadn't been in a wax museum in decades so it was an interesting experience. I "live Tweeted" many photos during the visit but thought I'd also share some here.

Some of the figures are eerily lifelike, while some aren't quite as successful. Here's a look at a few:

This one was so lifelike it was almost spooky, you'd swear Steven Spielberg was standing right there looking at you!

We spent a pleasant hour here and had fun looking around. I thought the full-price ticket was on the steep side relative to the time we spent there, but the website has a very nice discount for tickets purchased in advance. We were also offered discount coupons when we were walking nearby so that's a possible option for potential visitors as well.

Sincere thanks to Madame Tussauds for providing a complimentary admission ticket.

That Spielberg one really is eerie! It looks like a photo of him. I didn't realize there were so many classic figures in the exhibit.

Isn't it though?!

I was pleasantly surprised to find how many classic-era stars were included. Some of them are in settings which make fun "photo ops" for visitors.

Best wishes,
Laura

This is a lovely write-up, Laura and agree that the price is steep. I lingered in there, as you know, and had a blast with my selfies! :)
