MSM: Children Aren't Off Limits

First it was the Washington Post ridiculing the children of Supreme Court nominee John Roberts for being too nicely dressed.

Now it seems the New York Times is sinking to a new low. According to today's Drudge Report, the paper has an investigative reporter prying into the adoption records of Roberts' children.

There just aren't words to describe how low the Mainstream Media has sunk.

Check out Ann Coulter's recent column on townhall.com. She has had a series of weekly columns casting much dispersion on the idea that Roberts is bonafide conservative. I am sure you have already seen the LA Times article that tells about his pro bono work in a Gay Rights case. I haven't examined the details on that, but I sure as heck am suspicious about why he would take on such a case. I have a bad feeling about this guy! Bring back Robert Bork!

I think Ann raises a valid point --the judiciary is the most important thing, and it would sure be nice not to have to *guess* at how Roberts will turn out. (We all remember David Souter, among others.) Until today's Times story I've at least felt encouraged about various things I read about Roberts, but now I feel more concern that he's another moderate in the O'Connor mold, without any firm philosophies.

I hope next time around the President will appoint someone like Michael Luttig about whom there will be no doubts!
