I wasn't discriminated against and there were a surprising number of students who held my conservative views, but the environment at my school was borderline oppressive. I was generally careful (I have a wife and a family to support) about what I said and wrote. Whatever idea you have in your mind about how liberal the education programs are, take that amount and double it.
