Hispanic Separatist Public School in Los Angeles

A KABC radio reporter in Los Angeles was chased and assaulted, and his tape stolen, after he attempted to interview the founder and principal of a public charter school which advocates Latino separacy. The school has no white, black, or Asian students.

Doug McIntyre reported on Sean Hannity's radio program that the reporter, Sandy Wells, was roughed up but unharmed and has spent several hours with the LAPD today. World Net Daily has further details of the attack.

The school is supported in part by La Raza, a radical Latino group which is part of the "reconquista" movement advocating that the southwest United States be "returned" to Mexico.

More details at KABC, World Net Daily, and Michelle Malkin.

It's sad to see a racist school like this give charter schools a bad name; this school may possibly threaten the freedom of legitimate charter schools, which provide competition for "regular" public schools and are able to be innovative, often with great success.

Update: Speaking of racism in public schools, be sure to catch this post at Betsy's Page.
