Time Marches On...or Does It?

Effective this month, customers can no longer call AT&T in California to find out the correct time of day.

An AT&T spokesman said, "In today's world, there are just too many other ways to get this information. You can look at your cellphone or your computer. You no longer have to pick up the telephone."

A live phone operator reciting the current time into the phone was used in an amusing scene in a movie I watched just the other day, DESIGN FOR SCANDAL.

Henceforth, Nevada will be the only state left in the union which has the time of day provided by a telephone company.
