Rockin' and Rollin' in Reno

They've been having a very unusual "swarm" of earthquakes in the Reno, Nevada area for the last couple months. Over 1,000 quakes have been recorded, and the quakes are not occurring in patterns which would be considered typical.

This L.A. Times article quotes one of my daughter's USC geology professors at some length.

Hopefully we won't experience any "events" when we visit the High Sierras near the Nevada border this summer!

I hope you don't either. The earthquakes have been reported on the news here, but I didn't realize they were unusual-need to read up on it.
