Coming to DVD: Poldark II
The cover art is now available for POLDARK II, which comes to DVD on October 26, 2010.
POLDARK II is the continuation of POLDARK, which was released on DVD earlier this year.
Those interested in purchasing the complete series may want to note that the Deep Discount price is substantially lower than Amazon. I also suggest that POLDARK fans keep an eye out for sales; as much as I wanted to get Season 1, I waited for a few months after it came out and then was able to pick it up in an Amazon sale for roughly half of their original price.
Those who like British historical adventure who have never seen POLDARK may want to add the series to the Netflix queue and give it a try...it's one of the very best British shows from their "golden TV era," which also produced programs such as UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS, THE DUCHESS OF DUKE STREET, EDWARD THE KING, THE FLAME TREES OF THIKA, DANGER: UXB, and LILLIE.

Laura,
You've mentioned all my old favorites of Masterpiece Theatre.
Upstairs Downstairs, Duchess of Duke Street, Flame Trees of Thika - fortunately our library has them on DVD. I've heard of Poldark but have never seen it. Going to the library web page right now to see if they have it.
Hope you're enjoying Vin Scully's last year in broadcasting.
cheers,
Ellen
I've only seen a few of the Poldark shows - not always good TV reception back in the day in the sticks. I read the books instead and highly recommend them.
I'm glad you were able to enjoy the same shows, Ellen! Lots of great viewing memories there.
I will sure miss Vinnie when he retires --
Best wishes,
Laura
I loved the books! I started working my way through them in high school, and in more recent years collected the newest books via Amazon.UK. It's fascinating that Graham wrote them over a period of decades.
Best wishes,
Laura
