Coming to the Egyptian Theatre: A Celebration of Myrna Loy
The Egyptian happens to have played a special role in Loy's life, as it was there she was discovered on the stage, while performing in a live "prologue" before a movie.
Emily Leider, author of the new Loy biography MYRNA LOY: THE ONLY GOOD GIRL IN HOLLYWOOD, will be giving an illustrated talk and signing copies of her book.The lecture will be followed by a screening of MANHATTAN MELODRAMA (1934), Loy's first pairing with William Powell. Clark Gable also stars.
The Egyptian website indicates the movie will be a digital screening.

Sure wish you could both be there next weekend!! :) Should be a very enjoyable afternoon. How cool is it that the event will be held in the place where she was discovered?!
