Casablanca (1942) Plays Theaters Nationwide on March 21st

Turner Classic Movies is co-sponsoring a nationwide 70th Anniversary digital presentation of CASABLANCA (1942) on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.

The film will play at 7:00 p.m. local time in theaters across the country. Click here for the current list of participating theaters.

The movie will be preceded by a special introduction by Robert Osborne.

Tickets will go on sale February 24th.

Last November TCM co-sponsored a similar nationwide 50th Anniversary presentation of WEST SIDE STORY (1961).

I hope this is a trend that continues! I like the idea of making an event out of it - TCM on the big screen - with host Robert Osborne. I know in Los Angeles we have many opportunities to see classics on the big screen but hopefully other cities that are not as fortunate will have greater opportunities from screenings like these.

I agree with Robby - really hope this is a trend that continues!! Casablanca is in no way a favorite of mine, however, I think I will go seek it out anyway, just to see it on the big screen and support this type of revival.
