Notable Passings: Noreen Corcoran and Lita Baron

...Former child actress Noreen Corcoran has passed away at the age of 72.

Her death was announced on her official Facebook page.

Noreen was part of a large family of child actors, and her passing comes only three months after the death of her brother, Disney actor Kevin Corcoran.

Brothers Kelly and Brian have also passed on. Noreen is survived by siblings including Donna, Hugh, and Kerry.

Noreen is best known for starring in the TV series BACHELOR FATHER with John Forsythe.

Her films reviewed here include APACHE DRUMS (1951), PLYMOUTH ADVENTURE (1952), and most notably I LOVE MELVIN (1953), where she played Debbie Reynolds' little sister and performed "Life Has Its Funny Little Ups and Downs" with Donald O'Connor.

She played Kathryn Grayson as a child in SO THIS IS LOVE (1953) and Jean Simmons as a child in YOUNG BESS (1953).

...Spanish actress-singer-dancer Lita Baron, who was married to Rory Calhoun from 1948 to 1970, passed away last month at the age of 92.

Baron, the mother of three daughters with Calhoun, died on December 16th in Palm Springs, where she had lived for decades.

Baron appeared in a number of low-budget films in the early '40s, billed as Isabelita.

As Lita Baron, her films included JUNGLE JIM (1948), BOMBA ON PANTHER ISLAND (1949), THE BROKEN STAR (1956), and RED SUNDOWN (1956); the latter film, seen here, also starred Rory Calhoun.
