Mary Tyler Moore Dies at 80

One of TV's brightest stars, Mary Tyler Moore, has passed away at the age of 80.

I'm sure I've seen every episode of both THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW and THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW; as good as the latter was, it's THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW for which I'll remember her most fondly:

I can hear her voice now exclaiming "Rob!"

Thanks, Mary, for all the happy memories.

The same here, she'll always be Laura Petrie to me (oh, Rob!). So many favorite episodes from that show, and such happy times watching them with family. Rest in peace.

Owed her career mostly to Danny Thomas. She tried out for his daughter on his sitcom. He turned her down - "No one's gonna believe your're my kid with that nose." But he remembered her when DVD was casting.
