A new film series, John Huston: A Retrospective, opens at UCLA this Friday, June 9th.

The series runs through August 27th. All screenings will take place in UCLA's Billy Wilder Theater, located at the Hammer Museum in Westwood.

Opening night will feature Humphrey Bogart in THE MALTESE FALCON (1941) and KEY LARGO (1948).

Among the films being shown this summer are THE TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE (1948), THE ASPHALT JUNGLE (1950), IN THIS OUR LIFE (1942), THE AFRICAN QUEEN (1951), THE MISFITS (1961), BEAT THE DEVIL (1954), and PRIZZI'S HONOR (1985).

Please consult the online schedule for the complete list of titles and dates.

A second summer series, Golden Age Television Writers on the Big Screen, runs at UCLA from July 7th to August 20th. The complete schedule may be found here.

Additionally, as I previously posted, a nitrate print of John Farrow's NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND EYES (1948) screens at UCLA this Sunday evening.
