Fairly attractive.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! Today is much more than part of a three-day weekend. It doesn't matter where in the world our ancestors came from, we today are better off because they came to the shores of the United States of America.
Today is a good day to view MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON(1939), YOUNG MR. LINCOLN(1939), SERGEANT YORK(1941), YANKEE DOODLE DANDY(1942), THE MUSIC MAN(1962), THE LONGEST DAY(1962), GLORY(1989), GETTYSBURG(1993), and many more.
And a few more. Just watched 1776 (1972) last night. Another good one is Stars and Stripes Forever (1952). Also two newer ones, Independence Day (1996) and Air Force One (1997).
Margot, good to hear from you. I hope the heat has simmered downward in your neck of the woods. I like your movie choices.
Hi Walter, it was really only three days of extreme heat. Not much fun, but as always on the news it was blown all out of proportion.
Thanks to you all for celebrating Independence Day here including all those great recommendations from Walter and Margot!! I've had STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER unwatched on my shelf for too long... I also appreciated the recommendations of the newer films, which I've not yet seen.
Walter, THE LONGEST DAY really moved me when I saw it a few years ago. I agree, it's a wonderful patriotic film.
I hope you all had a very happy holiday!
Best wishes,
Laura
