Hi Laura-
I thought of you today as I have just noticed a Randolph Scott-Preston Foster flying picture that I've never heard of-20,000 MEN A YEAR (1939)
I'm starting to love these vintage flying flicks more and more mainly down to you especially the B type pictures with Richard Dix and Chester Morris.
It's so sad that the Sony Choice Collection MOD/DVD series is no longer available as they unearthed some real gems as did the Fox Archive especially with vintage B movies.
There are just so many old B Movies that I'd love to see on DVD especially those old Glenn Ford pre stardom Columbia pictures-I hope Critic's Choice/Mill Creek will release some of these.
You have certainly had a huge influence on the movies I watch these days I recently tracked down the Spanish DVD of SKY GIANT which I really enjoyed-and why has not COOAST GUARD with Randolph Scott,Frances Dee and Ralph Bellamy not had a DVD release.

Hi John!

Always love hearing from you and what you're watching -- and thrilled to hear if I've influenced any of that viewing! I definitely love older aviation films -- 20,000 MEN A YEAR could have bene better, but still it's worthwhile. And yes, Richard Dix and Chester Morris "B's" get thumbs up from me. Glad you liked SKY GIANT! Assume you've seen Morris in FLIGHT FROM GLORY and FIVE CAME BACK, two of the best aviation-themed "B" films of the '30s.

I'm glad we're getting so many great releases from lines like Kino Lorber Studio Classics but I definitely miss the "B" releases from Sony Choice, Fox Cinema Archives and the Warner Archive Collection. We got a couple "B" type films from WAC a couple years ago, such as I WOULDN'T BE IN YOUR SHOES, but new releases like that are few and far between.

COAST GUARD deserves a DVD release based on the cast alone!

Best wishes to you for 2023,
Laura
