Quick Preview of TCM in August: Summer Under the Stars

The complete 2026 Summer Under the Stars lineup has now been announced by Turner Classic Movies!

As regular TCM viewers will be aware, every August the network honors the work of 31 actors and actresses with day-long celebrations.

Here's the list of stars to be featured in 24-hour marathons in August 2026:

August 16: Cary Grant

August 19: Hattie McDaniel

August 21: Marie Windsor

August 23: Katharine Hepburn

First-time honorees are Keaton, Hamilton, Windsor, Granville, and Peters.

There are a significant number of my personal favorites on the list, and I'm especially enthusiastic about Marie Windsor and Bonita Granville's days. DOWN IN SAN DIEGO (1941) on Bonita Granville's day looks like a fun obscure film to check out.
