USC Rose Bowl Champions!

It's deja vu!

USC won its 23rd Rose Bowl title this afternoon, beating Illinois in a 49-17 blowout.

USC quarterback John David Booty was the offensive MVP. Booty set a Rose Bowl career record with seven touchdowns in two games. Rey Maualuga was the defensive MVP.

Update: Tom Dinehart of The Sporting News: "Is there any doubt USC is the best team in the nation? Of course not."

I enjoyed the game! The Carroll era is just awesome, bringing back the dominance of USC of old.

When I was in middle school we used to walk home through Villa Park High, and this was when Anthony Davis used to hang out at practice with the team and throw a few balls. He was always nice to the kids hanging around.

Everybody loved USC football back then. I remember my grandpa coming to visit on New Year's Day and we'd watch the Rose Bowl. That's just the way it was supposed to be.

So, it's nice to have times back the way they were when I was a kid!
