A rainy weekend is expected here in Southern California, but the weather was gorgeous tonight at Disney California Adventure!
The fountain at Carthay Circle is my favorite photo stop in the park:
As many readers are aware, Disney has rethemed its classic Twilight Zone Tower of Terror ride into Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! which opens at the end of the month.
I shot a few photos from various approaches and angles this evening:
The rethemed ride is based on the Marvel film GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2014) and its sequel GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 (2017), which I'll be reviewing this weekend.
The ride elevator was being tested when we were there this evening; the open ride windows are toward the left of the photo, above the lamp...
...constrasting with the photo below, where the windows have closed.
Today a new Annual Passholder Popcorn Bucket was introduced at Disneyland. The bucket, which features a Main Street Electrical Parade theme, sells for $15. There are unlimited $1 refills until July 30th.
California Adventure doesn't have an AP popcorn bucket yet; Cast Members there said it will be coming the last weekend of May and feature a Guardians of the Galaxy theme to go with the newly re-themed Guardians ride.
Finally, a handful of photos from the Disney Egg Hunt my daughter and I enjoyed on Easter weekend. The parks had run out of game cards and stickers but thoughtfully provided color photocopies of the map for those who wanted to go hunting.
We had a good time tracking the Disney character eggs down, and it was also a good excuse to walk a few miles, so it was a win-win!
Previous Disney egg hunt posts: 2013 and 2016.
Have a great weekend!
