NEA Funds Leftist Groups With Member Dues

The National Education Association contributed $65 million to leftist/liberal groups in 2005, according to Opinion Journal.

Groups receiving contributions from the NEA include Jesse Jackson's Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, Amnesty International, and the National Women's Law Center (which is currently working to defeat Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito).

Protect Our Public Schools received half a million dollars from the NEA to campaign against school choice for poor children. POPS also campaigns against charter schools -- which are public schools. Apparently some public schools deserve protection and some don't.
