Madeleine L'Engle Dies at 88

Newberry Award winning author Madeleine L'Engle has passed away at age 88.

L'Engle's best-known book may be A WRINKLE IN TIME, which won the Newberry in 1963. My younger daughter studied this book last year as part of her literature curriculum. I had missed this book growing up, as I wasn't a big fan of fantasies, and I found the themes very interesting.

President Bush awarded L'Engle a National Humanities Medal in 2004.
