Coming to DVD: That Hamilton Woman (1941)

Leigh and Olivier portray Emma, Lady Hamilton, and Lord Horatio Nelson. The supporting cast includes Gladys Cooper, Alan Mowbray, Sara Allgood, and Henry Wilcoxin.
I saw about half of this movie on TCM a few months ago and was particularly blown away by both Leigh's beauty and her performance. She was a completely different person from the actress of GWTW or STREETCAR; it went far deeper than simply being a good actor. I was greatly impressed. And I doubt she was ever more gorgeous than she was in this film, shot in black and white by Rudolph Mate. I look forward to seeing the complete film.
Extras are listed at the Criterion website (click the title of this post); they include a commentary track, an interview, and the trailer, which can be seen at both the Criterion site and Amazon.
