Dodgers Win the West!

It was a nerve-wracking week as the Dodgers' Magic Number has been stuck at one for several days in a row.

Tonight the Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies, 5-0, winning their second National League West title in a row.

Kudos also go to former Dodgers manager Jim Tracy, who has done a marvelous job managing the Colorado Rockies this season. Tracy took over managing the struggling Rockies in May; in early June the team was 15-1/2 games behind the Dodgers, and under Tracy the Rockies fought back and were in contention until the final weekend of the season.

Tracy is a class act, and it's wonderful to see him enjoy success as the Rockies take the Wild Card slot in the National League playoffs.

The USC Trojans football team beat Cal tonight, 30-3, so it was a good night all the way around for many Southern California sports fans.

On to the playoffs...Charge!
