Five-Year Bloggiversary!
It's very hard to believe, but as of today, July 16th, Laura's Miscellaneous Musings has been in existence for half a decade.
Some readers have been "regulars" from very early on, and your loyalty means a great deal. And I'm always delighted to make the acquaintance of new readers. I appreciate all of you who take the time to visit and provide your encouragement and friendship!
I have been deeply touched by various acts of kindness from some regular visitors. There are wonderful people out there on the Internet, and it's a marvelous thing that blogging allows those of us with common interests to become acquainted.
On to the next half-decade!
Previous blog anniversaries: 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Congrats on reaching your 5th blogiversary. You have kept this blog going so consistently and I'm sure that is a lot of hard work. Speaking on behalf of your readers, your hard work and dilligence is very much appreciated. Keep up the good work!
Happy Bloggiversary! I seem to remember that your daughter started the blog while waiting for the UPS truck to arrive with the latest Harry Potter book? My, how the time flies.....and how I wish the Harry Potter books kept coming!
I wish you many more!
Oh wow--that's a long time. And you are so prolific! Congratulations. I love your blog and I'm looking forward to future posts :-)
Thank you so much, Raquelle! I appreciate your kind words a great deal.
You've got a wonderful memory, Jill! You're exactly right. :) My daughter and I were just reminiscing, and she, like you, was wishing for more Potter books!
Best wishes,
Laura
Thank you, KC! One of the pleasures of blogging has been becoming acquainted with other bloggers and enjoying their blogs, such as yours and Raquelle's.
Best wishes,
Laura
Happy Blogiversary! (I've forgotten how old my blog is...eek, I'm getting old!) Congrats on a great job, and here's to many, many more blogging years!
Missy http://www.missyisms.com
Thanks very much, Missy! (It seems like our blogs are close to the same age?)
Best wishes,
Laura
If I'd only had time to blog the past few weeks I might remember more about the poor thing...its age, its favorite topics of discussion, its log-on procedures, its URL, its favorite movie, etc.
OK, I remember some of that, but now that my three work projects are wrapping down, I should be back to blogging soon.
;-)

Congrats! I really enjoy your blog even though I have been following fairly recently.
Best Wishes,
Amanda
Thank you, Amanda!
Best wishes,
Laura
Congrats on 5 years of hard work and a very enjoyable blog!!
Thanks very much, Jeff!
Best wishes,
Laura
A five-year Bloggiversary in blogland is like like 50 years in the real word. Congratulations. :)
LOL, That makes me feel old, La Peregrina! But I know what you mean. :) There are a lot of blogs that come and go. I'm kind of amazed to realize anew how many years have gone by.
Maybe someday I'll even grow beyond this format and make the big leap to Layouts. I stopped working on it much when Google rescued the archives with "older posts" links, as I was having trouble with the title and some aspects of the format...
Thanks again,
Laura
Wow! 5 Years! Pretty amazing! I think that means you've gone pro or something! :)
Keep it up - you are still a daily read for me, and still one of my favorites(even if The Shelf is on hiatus right now-but not for too long)! It's also nice to have good "blogging buddies" like you out there! Congratulations and here's to five more!
Hey, J.C., great to hear from you! I check the Shelf regularly to see if you've had time to post anything. :) Hope you'll be back soon!
Thanks so much -- I believe your own 5-year blog anniversary will be in a few weeks?!
Best wishes,
Laura
Yep - in August! Thanks for checking on me- it's just been a overloaded summer so far with teach several evening classes, regular work, plus some health issues with my parents. Things look like they will be back in some structured order soon however, so we will try to make up for it.
By the by- stopping by Barnes and Noble during some much needed "date night" time with the wife to check out the Criterion sale. My wife's been asking what I wanted for our Anniversary- looks like I'll have an answer....
I must have been the last to hear about this, seeing as there are already sixteen comments on this post. The happiest of blogiversaries to you, Laura -- and many more to come!
Happy anniversary, J.C.!! And many more. :) Enjoy the sale!
Thanks very much, Ivan, I appreciate it!
Best wishes,
Laura
Congratulations, Laura! I've only been reading your blog for a short time, but I can honestly say that the content is consistently good: well-written, thoughtful. I hope we'll be celebrating many more of your bloggiversaries!
Thank you for the kind words, Amanda. They mean a great deal, as does the encouragement from everyone else. You all make it fun!
I've been enjoying getting to know your blog as well. :)
Best wishes,
Laura
Millions and billions of congratulations, Laura! That's amazing. I love that you've kept at it, cheery and interesting and informative all this time. SOOOO glad to count you among my blogfriends.
...and many more.....!
Best,
Anne
You and I go way back now, Anne, at least in blogging years! I'm so glad you've resumed blogging!
Thanks a bunch,
Laura
Congratulations! Here's to a bunch more!
Wow! That's a long time. I have enjoyed reading your thoughts and comments for several years now and like how we have so much in common (can anyone say Disneyland?). One thing I have come to appreciate is your reviews of old movies. This has brought so many good ones that I never knew about to my attention and for that I thank you :)
Congratulations and best wishes, Laura. I love visiting your blog every day and I hope I will be able to continue to do so for a very long time.
And a hopefully not-too-superfluous "and that goes for me too" from Movietone News! Congratulations, Laura.
Happy anniversary Laura. Thanks to you I am more informed about TCM's schedule than the actual book I get in the mail. Your blog is awesome.
Carrie, Irene, Mel, and Matthew,
Thanks to each and every one of you for stopping by and celebrating my 5th anniversary!! As well as being such regular visitors. Your support is very much appreciated!
Irene, I'm especially delighted to know you have found movies you liked via my blog -- that makes me very happy indeed! :)
I spent much of the "bloggiversary" out at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure...I'm working on posts which will be coming soon!
Best wishes,
Laura
Thanks so much for the wonderful compliment, Monty!
You all have made the half-decade point of my blog a very happy occasion!
Best wishes,
Laura
Laura:
I am new to your fold, having first come by way of the Matthew Coniam path. His compass still seems on target. I try to read you everyday, because should I miss a day, the postings seem to multiply exponentially. (Rather like the brooms and buckets in the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” sequence in “Fantasia.”) I am not sure how you do it. Congratulations. Gerald.
Thank you, Gerald! You reassure me about those days when I have difficulty finding time to get a post up. :) :) I hope you will continue to enjoy visiting.
Best wishes,
Laura
Very glad I came across your blog, via Mathew and Another Old Movie Blog. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, Panavia, I'm glad you're here! And I'm glad to be read in the company of bloggers like Jacqueline and Matthew.
Best wishes,
Laura
Congratulations, Laura! I've just recently discovered your blog and I'm so impressed by the intelligence, insight and integrity with which you write. Your site is a treasure trove for classic film buffs like my husband and me. And I enjoy the other topics you cover. For example, thank you for introducing me to "A Quiet Simple Life" blog. Wishing you continued success.
You're making me blush! :) Thank you so much for your generous comments, which made my day.
I'm delighted to know you have enjoyed visiting A Quiet Simple Life. I have read Sallie's blog for years now and always enjoy her insights into various issues.
I hope you will continue to enjoy your visits here!
Best wishes,
Laura
