In Disney News...

...Today my daughters saw a special screening of Disney's upcoming TANGLED (2010) at the University of Southern California. The movie was shown in 3D.

The girls gave the movie a thumbs up and said it was extremely funny. My younger daughter did have a problem with the musical numbers, which she said were very random and didn't flow from the story. Having seen the film, they also thought it was absurd that the film wasn't called RAPUNZEL, as originally planned.

The movie opens nationwide on November 24th.

...TOY STORY 3 was released on DVD last week.

...There are lots of good photos in this MiceChat Update, including Christmas decorations going up at Disneyland and the "topping" ceremony for Cars Land construction at Disney's California Adventure.

...The Winter Issue of Disney Twenty-Three magazine is now on the stands. Topics include a tribute to retiring Disney Archivist Dave Smith; Disney's Aulani Resort, currently under construction in Hawaii; the Destination D: Disneyland '55 weekend; and the upcoming sequel to TRON.

...On the D23 website, Jim Fanning takes a look at the history of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, one of the longest-running comic books in history.

...SlashFilm shares rumblings about the possibility of a Disneyland TRON ride, not to mention a remodeled Tomorrowland.

...C-3PO will be the pilot of the new version of Disneyland's Star Tours ride, which opens in 2011.
