TCM Alert: Inflation (1942)

I've been hoping that Turner Classic Movies would add INFLATION (1942) to their Esther Williams schedule, and I just learned that it will be shown in the early morning hours on Friday, May 27th.

INFLATION is a 17-minute WWII short starring Esther Williams and Edward Arnold. I've never seen it, and this description sounds quite interesting.

INFLATION is going to be shown Thursday night after THE HOODLUM SAINT (1946), around 12:36 a.m. Pacific time, 3:36 a.m. Eastern. Fans of Esther Williams or WWII patriotic shorts should be sure to set their DVRs!

I think you'll enjoy Inflation (1942), Laura. Edward Arnold makes a great devil who works the phone with some (not so) surprising, but timely people. It also features an early glimpse of Stephen McNally as Esther's companion in consumerism run rampant, too.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks, Moira! Edward Arnold is always good -- I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

Best wishes,
Laura
