...Thanks to reader Jane for passing on the link to a terrific article on the McCrea Ranch. The article includes a picture of Joel McCrea and Frances Dee's grandson Wyatt, a very nice gentleman. I need to go back and visit the bunkhouse!

...The Evening Class ran an interesting interview with Charlie Tabesh of Turner Classic Movies last week.

...A very interesting new release from the Warner Archive: a remastered edition of RAGE IN HEAVEN (1941), starring Robert Montgomery, George Sanders, and Ingrid Bergman. I noted that the Archive is currently offering new films at a lower price point; while most Archive titles are $19.95, the new releases have been $16.99 this week, plus tax and shipping.

...Last week CBS renewed a significant number of TV series, including THE GOOD WIFE, BLUE BLOODS, and NCIS.

...Brent fans unite! Screen Snapshots presents "George Brent - An Overdue Appreciation."

...I really enjoyed Movie Star Makeover's analysis of Dolores Hart's wardrobe in WHERE THE BOYS ARE (1960).

...Classic film fans may want to show their enthusiasm for Criterion Collection DVDs with a t-shirt. Love the front and back design.

...I'm looking forward to seeing the well-reviewed SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN (2012), starring Emily Blunt and Ewan McGregor, when it goes into wide release. Here are reviews by Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times and Lou Lumenick of the New York Post.

...What if Daylight Saving Time is just a waste of time? I've been saying that for years...I don't care what time we're on, but please leave it that way!

...There's a nice tribute to Joan Bennett at Criminal Element which includes "A Beginner's Guide to Essential Joan Bennett."

...There's a DVD cover posted on Amazon for THIS MEANS WAR (2012). No release date announced yet.

...I didn't know about the Audie Murphy Museum in Texas until reading about it at 50 Westerns from the 50s. Would love to visit!

...This week Another Old Movie Blog reviews STORM CENTER (1956) and TRIAL (1955). Two interesting films I need to see!

...I was glad to see Glenn Erickson enjoyed Barbara Stanwyck and John Lund in NO MAN OF HER OWN (1950) as much as I did. It's out on DVD later this month. I also found Erickson's take on MY WEEK WITH MARILYN (2011) quite interesting. Incidentally, Glenn mentions in his latest column that Disney will be bringing out a bunch of titles on Blu-ray this year, including BABES IN TOYLAND (1961) and THE ABSENT MINDED PROFESSOR (1961).

...Speaking of Barbara Stanwyck, KC recently posted a review of the new book BARBARA STANWYCK: THE MIRACLE WOMAN by Dan Callahan.

...Dorian discusses Dick Powell in MURDER, MY SWEET (1944) in a typically fun post at Tales of the Easily Distracted. I'm always glad to see a post by another Dick Powell fan!

...84-year-old Vin Scully, who seems somehow ageless to this Dodger fan, will be cutting back on road trips this year and skipping games in Colorado. Scully will henceforth only broadcast road games in California and Arizona.

...WHEN MAGOO FLEW: THE RISE AND FALL OF ANIMATION STUDIO UPA is a brand-new book by Adam Abraham. It's a great tie-in with the newly released UPA Jolly Frolics Collection from the TCM Vault.

...The Hallmark Channel, concluding an unsuccessful run of TV programming from Martha Stewart, will be rededicating itself to its signature TV-movies. 34 original movies will air on the network this year.

...Notable Passing: Artist Robert Ayres, who drew the map of the Ponderosa seen in the opening credits of BONANZA, has died at 98. Ayres was a set illustrator for Paramount and Disney; in addition to his work on films, he created artwork for Epcot at Walt Disney World.
