Fox Movie Channel in March: Highlights
It seems as though perhaps the writing is on the wall as far as Fox Movie Channel's future showing movies from the classic film era.
I discussed some of the channel's recent changes last month. The number of classic films scheduled in March has declined further, with only one or two films made before 1960 playing on weekdays; some weekend days have no older films at all.
Given that, the list of suggestions this month will be relatively short, but there are nonetheless a few notable titles worth seeing out:

...Also on the 5th, THE LONGEST DAY (1962) turns up on the schedule, with its all-star cast including Richard Burton, Sean Connery, John Wayne, Robert Ryan, Henry Fonda, Jeffrey Hunter, Robert Wagner, Robert Mitchum, Eddie Albert, and more.
...Tyrone Power and Gene Tierney star in the romantic comedy THAT WONDERFUL URGE (1948) on March 9th. This is a fun film worth checking out.

...A ROYAL SCANDAL (1945), showing on March 12th, was directed by Otto Preminger and Ernst Lubitsch. It stars Tallulah Bankhead, Anne Baxter, William Eythe, and Vincent Price.
...Lloyd Nolan stars as gumshoe Michael Shayne in BLUE, WHITE AND PERFECT (1942) on March 16th.

...HEAVEN CAN WAIT, a wonderful Ernst Lubitsch confection starring Don Ameche, Gene Tierney, Laird Cregar, and Charles Coburn, will be shown on March 25th. The great supporting cast includes Eugene Pallette, Spring Byington, Allyn Joslyn, Marjorie Main, and Louis Calhern.
...Linda Darnell stars in FOREVER AMBER (1947) on March 26th.
...Barbara Stanwyck and Joel McCrea costar in BANJO ON MY KNEE (1936) on March 31st. I don't have this film so I'll be sure to set the DVR for this one.
Happy viewing!
