Quick Preview of TCM in June

The tentative June schedule for Turner Classic Movies is now available online!

The June Star of the Month is a very special actress, Eleanor Parker.

Over two dozen Parker films will be shown in June, including wonderful titles such as THE VERY THOUGHT OF YOU (1944), PRIDE OF THE MARINES (1945), THE VOICE OF THE TURTLE (1947), SCARAMOUCHE (1952), and ABOVE AND BEYOND (1952).

Eleanor Parker has been part of my movie-going life for just about as long as I can remember, as one of the first two movies I ever saw in a theater was THE SOUND OF MUSIC (1965). She'll be 91 in June.

June will also bring multi-film tributes to Paulette Goddard, George O'Brien, Robert Taylor, Katharine Hepburn, Jeanette MacDonald, Mamie Van Doren, Anthony Mann, and Jane Russell. There's also plenty of film noir, sci-fi, Westerns, and musicals, as well as a tribute to D-Day on June 6th.

I'll have much more information about TCM's June schedule as that month draws near.

The current Star of the Month is Laurence Olivier, with a "Tough Guys" theme ahead in May.

That looks like quite a full month! So many great movies and no where near enough time.
