Today at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure: Dia de Reyes

It's still the Christmas season at Disneyland, where the holidays remain in full swing through the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6th.

Epiphany, also known as Three Kings' Day or Dia de Reyes, is being celebrated at the resort from today through Monday.

This is the third year Disney has celebrated the holiday. Last year the festivities were held in Disneyland's Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree, which I shared photos of here.

This year Dia de Reyes moved to Disney California Adventure, where it became part of the larger Viva Navidad! celebration in Paradise Garden.

Unfortunately our plans to check out the scene today were thwarted by filming taking place all over the Paradise Garden area:

We switched gears and went over to Disneyland, where we went on the Storybook Land Canal Boats for the first time this holiday season.

Storybook Land is one of Disneyland's original 1955 attractions. The miniature Christmas decorations are always delightful. This is the village near Cinderella's castle...

...and here's Toad Hall from THE ADVENTURES OF ICHABOD AND MR. TOAD (1949):

Pinocchio's village:

The Casey Jr. Circus Train, another of Disneyland's original attractions, also runs through Storybook Land.

Our family is looking forward to another year of wonderful adventures at the Disneyland Resort!

Great pictures Laura! I didn't know they decorated the Canal Boats' villages and houses. You always here about Small World and Haunted Mansion, but not about the Boats. Just one of the little touches that make Disneyland so special!

Thanks, Redcon1! You're so right, those miniature decorations along the canal are truly a special Disneyland touch. I'm glad to know you enjoyed the photos! It's great fun for me to share them.

Best wishes,
Laura
