Today at Disney California Adventure: Summer Evening
This terrific summer Friday began with breakfast at Los Alamitos Race Course and wrapped up with dinner at Disney California Adventure!
We arrived on Buena Vista Street around 4:30. Happily the hot weather of the past couple weeks has given way to very pleasant, sunny days.
Colorful balloons are always fun to photograph! As with my post of a couple weeks ago, all of the photos in this post were taken on my new iPad, except for the last picture, which is a cell phone photo. Click any photo to enlarge for a better look.
Doc Hudson's office in the Ornament Valley Mechanical Clinic is actually wonderfully themed seating for Flo's V8 Cafe. Flo's has a special limited time menu item right now, Coca-Cola ribs. I approved.
The sun lowering over the Cadillac Range. Can you make out the waterfall in the distance?
After dinner we spent time walking around Paradise Pier, including a ride on Toy Story Midway Mania! Back when this ride opened there was discussion of the games periodically changing or perhaps having a Christmas overlay. That's never happened. Wonder if it ever will...
The beautifully themed King Triton's Carousel is one of my favorite rides in the park. Parts of the ride decor pay tribute to long-gone California seaside amusement parks; visit a 2008 post for a peek.
The sun going down on San Francisco Street:
Hadn't had one of these treats from Clarabelle's for a long time!
The perfect ending to a lovely summer evening.

Didn't they change one of the games at Toy Story Mania? I thought so, but I haven't ridden it enough to remember the games that well. It's a ridiculous wait to ride it in Florida. It's so odd that DCA has such a shorter line for it!
I'm sure that I've said this before, but I can't wait to get back out there to the parks in California!
