Today at Disneyland: Ducks on Parade!
It was an absolutely wonderful day today at Disneyland, made especially memorable by our daughter performing in the park as part of the University of Oregon Ducks Marching Band.
There was a chill in the air, with gray skies and some occasional rain, but despite that the park looked beautiful. Flowers seen at Town Square:
I had the chance to check out the addition of Arendelle from FROZEN (2013) to the Storybook Land Canal Boats:
I wish Arendelle hadn't replaced The Old Mill but other than that it looks quite nice. Here's another scene from the new area:
We had a prime viewing spot of the Christmas Fantasy Parade, sitting right under the Christmas tree on Town Square:
It's tradition for the Rose Bowl team marching bands to perform at Disneyland in the days leading up to the Rose Parade and the big game. Today it was the University of Oregon's turn. They marched in at Town Square...
...and performed a 15-minute show on the steps of the train station.
When I was in high school I sang in the Candlelight Caroling Procession at the train station, so it was moving for me to see my daughter playing with the band in the same spot so many years later.
Go Ducks!!

So nice, what a proud and magical moment this must have been!
Best and Happy New Year :)
That is so very cool to see them performing right there on the steps. How neat! Hope it's not too cold for them tomorrow at the Rose Bowl parade! It's 34 over here right now, and we have snow all over the mountains. It even snowed at our house last night, except the wind was blowing so strongly that none of it could hit the ground. It all went sideways.
Also - Happy New Year to you and your family!! Can't believe it's about to be 2015.
So glad you had such a fantastic (and proud) day, Laura. Happy New Year!
Thanks to you all so much for the lovely comments and New Year greetings!
It really was a magical moment. :) Deb, it's pretty cold but not as much as we feared a couple days ago. Whew! Fun about the snow! I've seen photos showing it very low in the mountains/hills this week.
Thanks to you all! Happy New Year!
Laura
