TCM Star of the Month: Gloria Grahame
Actress Gloria Grahame will be the November Star of the Month on Turner Classic Movies.
To the best of my knowledge, this will be Grahame's first time as Star of the Month. 23 Grahame films will be shown spread across Tuesday evenings this month.
The lineup will include the TCM premiere of NAKED ALIBI(1954) costarring Sterling Hayden.
In the past I might have said that Grahame wasn't a favorite of mine -- and yet she turns up time and again in movies I really enjoy, whether it's the underrated Western ROUGHSHOD (1949), the classic Hollywood melodrama THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL (1952), or a great film noir like THE BIG HEAT (1953). I've started to think it can't be coincidence and maybe I should give her more credit!

Hi Laura
Lot of good films to savour in that list. One I personally recommend is THE GOOD DIE YOUNG (1954), a British 'noir' with a terrific cast of British and American stars. It is a film I return to every so often as it has so much to give.
Kind of disappointed that Oklahoma! didn’t make the list, but a lot of interesting noirs to keep me happy.
How could they NOT be airing "Sudden Fear" (1952)? It must be a leasing issue.
