Another Reason Not to Vote For McCain

Today's Washington Times reports that Senator John McCain is attempting to change the California primary rules for his benefit; he is said by party officials to be pressing for changes to "allow independents to vote in the Feb. 5 primary."

If a so-called "independent" wants to help select a party's nominee, he or she should join that party. Allowing non-party members to vote in each party's primary dilutes the rights of registered members to choose their party's nominee.

Senator McCain knows he's not popular with many Republicans and is obviously very willing to have so-called "independents" hijack the primary for his personal benefit.

Yet one more reason Senator McCain will never receive this Republican's vote.
