Save Us From the Nanny Staters

The Senate is considering trying to impose a federal ban on the sale of junk food in public schools.

Why not let states, or better yet, local school districts -- with input from parents -- impose the rules they want for local schools?

A federal law for something like this is overkill. Our nation -- or at least its lawmakers -- are unhealthily obsessed with regulating every aspect of Americans' lives.
