New on DVD: Fox Film Noir

Today sees the release of three new entries in the Fox Film Noir series: DAISY KENYON (1947), DANGEROUS CROSSING (1953), and BLACK WIDOW (1954).

All of the DVDs include attractive extras.

DAISY KENYON includes a commentary by historian Foster Hirsch, a featurette on director Otto Preminger, plus stills and the trailer. BLACK WIDOW extras include a commentary by Alan K. Rode, featurettes on stars Gene Tierney and Ginger Rogers, stills, and an isolated music score. DANGEROUS CROSSING has a commentary by Aubrey Solomon and an isolated music score.

DAISY KENYON was reviewed by Dennis Lim in last Sunday's Los Angeles Times.

DAISY KENYON was also reviewed by Glenn Erickson at DVD Savant, along with BLACK WIDOW. DANGEROUS CROSSING has been reviewed at DVD Talk.

I haven't seen any of these movies. Looks like great viewing for classic film fans.
