Republicans To Propose Tough Immigration Bills

Michelle Malkin reports that two Republican senators, Jeff Sessions and David Vitter, are going to propose some serious immigration bills on Wednesday, March 5th.

Full details on the bills are in this article in the L.A. Times.

If the bills get any traction it will be interesting to see what kind of stance Senator McCain takes now that he's the nominee.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the LATs actually make a distinction and use the more accurate 'illegal immigation' as opposed to their usual non-committal 'immigration'.

I don't feel optimistic about the successes of these, however, its certainly reassuring to these bills up and coming and McCain again getting a clear picture of what the party - hence his supporters - consider a front burner issue.
