Bilingual Production of West Side Story
A new theatrical production of WEST SIDE STORY which just premiered in Washington, D.C., conducts an interesting experiment: the Puerto Rican characters sing all their songs in Spanish.
The director is 90-year-old Arthur Laurents, who wrote the musical's book over half a century ago.
The Washington Times review can be read here.
The production moves to Broadway in March.
