...that President John Tyler, who was born in 1790, has two grandsons still living?
Not great-grandsons or further down the line, but grandsons.
Here's the lineage for Harrison Tyler, profiled at the subject link: President Tyler's son Lyon was born in 1853, when Tyler was 63. Lyon Tyler turned 75 the year his son Harrison was born in 1928.

That is amazing, and no I did not know that!
There was a 90 year age difference between my daughter and her grandmother. My husband's Mother married late in life and he married me late in life - so there you go :)

President Tyler died in 1862, when his son Lyon was quite young.

Wow! Just yesterday I was amazed to learn that Stonewall Jackson's granddaughter only died in 1991.
