Today at Disneyland: A Beautiful August Day
The summer weeks have been whizzing by, and it will be time for the College Girl to return to campus in Los Angeles for her senior year in a few more days. I took the day off from my business so that we could enjoy one more summer day together at Disneyland.
It was a gorgeous California August day, sunny and warm but not too hot, with a nice breeze.
The flowers at Town Square:
According to the MiceAge website, the Muppets were shooting commercials in the park today. Here's the crew set up at the Hub. We never saw Elmo and friends, though!
We spent quite a bit of time in Critter County this morning since we hadn't been to that part of the park recently. We went on one of my favorite "dark" rides, Winnie-the-Pooh...
...and were completely soaked on Splash Mountain! We have never gotten so wet before...did they raise the water level for the summer?!
We also went on the Canoes for the first time in a while.
I can't go on the canoes without remembering the summer I was in the Cast Member Canoe Races.
A beautiful detail from New Orleans Square:
A Disneyana display of some of the new Haunted Mansion 40th Anniversary merchandise by Shag, which was released last weekend:
Although the Haunted Mansion isn't a favorite ride, I couldn't resist adding a cute 40th Anniversary mug featuring Mickey and friends to my collection. I especially enjoy collecting the mugs commemorating the anniversaries of various Disneyland attractions...they're both attractive and functional!
At the end of the day we also paid a visit to California Adventure to see the new displays at the Blue Sky Cellar, which will be coming in a separate post.

Senior year? Gosh, that went by fast. Your pictures are great. 5 more days and then I'll be back in the Park :)
It sure has gone by fast! She has had a wonderful experience thus far, and we are so proud of her accomplishments. Now she just has to figure out what to do next! :)
Was wondering when the other annual passes stop being blocked out. Disneyland was busy today but not too crowded, and DCA even less crowded. Glad you will be able to visit again soon! We decided to wait and see Fantasmic! when "Murphy" is finally fixed (grin).
Best wishes,
Laura
