Restored Statue of Myrna Loy Returns to Venice High School

Over the last couple years I've written two posts about efforts to restore a vandalized statue of Myrna Loy and return it to Venice High School.

Loy posed for the statue in 1923, when she was a teenager named Myrna Williams.

The restored statue was unveiled in a ceremony yesterday afternoon.

Speakers included Venice High School graduate Beau Bridges, who had a small role in Loy's film THE RED PONY (1949) when he was seven years old.

The L.A. Times has a brief video of the ceremony, including some of Bridges' speech and the unveiling of the statue.

There has never been an actress since to match the dry wit, charm and vivaciousness of Myrna Loy.
