In Disney News...

...Walt Disney was born 109 years ago today, December 5, 1901.

...Disney historian Jeff Kurtti discusses Leslie Nielsen's Disney career at Storyboard, the official blog of the Walt Disney Family Museum.

...D23 has announced a slate of events for 2011, including studio tours, "50 and Fabulous" Movie Screenings on the studio lot, a Destination D event in Florida celebrating the 40th anniversary of Walt Disney World, and -- of course -- the D23 Expo slated for next August in Anaheim.

...FANTASIA (1940) has just been rereleased to DVD, along with FANTASIA 2000. To my disappointment, DESTINO, Disney's collaboration with Salvador Dali -- long rumored to be coming to the Disney Treasures series -- was released as a FANTASIA extra, but only on Blu-ray editions. DESTINO is not included with the standard DVD releases.
