TCM Remembers Elizabeth Taylor

Here's a look at the tribute to Elizabeth Taylor currently running on Turner Classic Movies:

As mentioned here yesterday, TCM will pay tribute to Taylor on April 10th. The 24-hour marathon will include LASSIE COME HOME (1943), NATIONAL VELVET (1944), FATHER OF THE BRIDE (1950), GIANT (1956), RAINTREE COUNTY (1957), CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF (1958), IVANHOE (1952), and four more titles.

There's a nice audio interview with Angela Lansbury, who reminisces about working with the young Taylor on NATIONAL VELVET (1944). The 19-year-old Lansbury played Taylor's older sister in the classic.

Eva Marie Saint and Nancy Reagan were among the decades-long friends who have paid tribute to Taylor.

I was also touched by comments from Debbie Reynolds, who spoke with Taylor just a couple of weeks ago. It's nice to know they put the drama of half a century ago aside and mended fences.

Lauren Schutte of The Hollywood Reporter reviewed 10 great Taylor films, one of many such tributes we're sure to read in the coming days.
