Today at Disneyland: Almost Christmas!
It's a busy few days, but we were glad to have the time to spend the morning enjoying Christmastime at Disneyland!
It was a crisp, beautiful December morning in Anaheim:
The Jolly Holiday Bakery is due to open the first week of January:
I love the Mary Poppins weather vane:
After breakfast at River Belle Terrace, we walked onto the Jungle Cruise and then adjourned to the Candy Palace to watch candy cane making, which was a fascinating process:
Click to enlarge this photo for a look at the hook on the left wall which is used for pulling the candy prior to rolling and cutting.
We were told by a cast member that next year candy canes may also be made in the new candy store being built on Buena Vista Street in California Adventure, which would make it a little easier to actually buy one. These beauties are reserved by a ticketing system at park opening, and there just aren't enough to go around. OC Weekly has a slideshow of the candy cane making.
We also rode through the Storybook Land Canal, which was somewhat less decorated for the holiday than usual, particularly around Cinderella's Castle. I photographed that ride at Christmastime in 2008.
Previous Christmas Visits: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
