A Visit to Hillside Memorial Park, Part 2

Here are a few more photos from our April visit to Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City, California.

Jeff Chandler is interred at Hillside. Susan Cabot, who played his wife in THE BATTLE AT APACHE PASS (1952), is at Hillside as well (scroll down). Click on any photo to enlarge it for a closer look.

Michael Landon of BONANZA and LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE is interred behind a locked glass door. Thanks to Aurora for the photo immediately below, which turned out better than mine:

Landon's BONANZA father, Lorne Greene, is buried in a nearby garden:

Actor-TV producer Sheldon Leonard is in the same area:

As I shared in May, Dinah Shore made the choice to have her ashes shared between Hillside and Forest Lawn Cathedral City, near her longtime desert home. It's interesting to note that her ex-husband George Montgomery made a similar choice, splitting his ashes between Forest Lawn Cathedral City and his family's plot in Great Falls, Montana.

Eydie Gorme Lawrence:

Hillside serves Jewish and interfaith families. Cyd Charisse, a Methodist, had a Christian ceremony prior to being interred at Hillside in 2008. Her husband, Tony Martin, joined her in 2012 yet for some reason doesn't have a permanent marker yet. (March 2020 Update: I'm happy to say that Tony Martin had a marker placed in January 2020.)

The great MGM musicals producer Arthur Freed, responsible for several of the movies in which Charisse appeared, is also at Hillside:

Actress Susan Cabot costarred in several favorite Audie Murphy Westerns, THE DUEL AT SILVER CREEK (1952), GUNSMOKE (1953), and RIDE CLEAR OF DIABLO (1954):

The great composer Jerry Goldsmith:

Moe Howard of The Three Stooges:
