TCM in December: Christmas Movies

It's time for my annual guide to Christmas movies being shown this month on Turner Classic Movies!

Christmas films are scattered throughout the month, culminating in something extra-fun: A week-long Classic Christmas Marathon which begins on December 18th and runs through Christmas Day.

As regular TCM fans are no doubt aware, the Christmas schedules vary a bit from year to year, so I want to mention that several films which were missing from last year's Christmas schedule have turned up this year, including CHRISTMAS IN CONNECTICUT (1945), THE CHEATERS (1945), NEVER SAY GOODBYE (1946), COVER UP (1949), and DESK SET (1957).

For those looking for nontraditional Christmas viewing, I highly recommend LADY ON A TRAIN (1945) and COVER UP (1949) on December 19th. Both are lighthearted mysteries with lots of Christmas atmosphere. I've enjoyed both films multiple times. Dennis O'Keefe and Barbara Britton are seen here in COVER UP.

Please click on any link below for my extended review. In the case of films which are shown multiple times this month, the review is only linked the first time the title is mentioned on the schedule.

Please forgive any spacing irregularity below, as I'm still becoming familiar with Blogspot's new platform and positioning photos is a bit of a challenge at times.
