I just watched Ride Lonesome the other week! It's a good little western. <3

So sad about Alan Ladd, Jr. (and all the other passings as well).

Aww, Mitchell Ryan was always someone I liked to see pop up in things. I liked him as Riker's father on Star Trek: Next Generation.

Lots of good stuff happening! Good to see!

Diane Brewster's "Samantha Crawford" character, which originated on the Clint Walker TV show CHEYENNE, was all kinds of awesome. Watching Brewster inhabit the Samantha character sure was something! I would've loved a spin-off showing who Samantha was trying to scam when she wasn't running into the Maverick brothers (haha). As good as she was on "The Savage Hills" episode with Jack Kelly, I think she was even better with James Garner in the "According to Hoyle" MAVERICK episode.

Brewster DID play a con artist for a series, albeit a short-lived 25-episode one, called THE ISLANDERS in 1960-61. As I'm a huge fan and try to collect everything I can find of hers on DVD, I'd love to see that show. But a one-minute ABC commercial promo uploaded to YouTube is all I can find. I'd even take a grey-market DVD, since it's highly unlikely this far down the line that Warner Bros. would release an obscure show like this on disc.

Anyway, this concludes your Diane Brewster minute... :-)

Eva, I'm so glad you enjoyed RIDE LONESOME, it's one of my favorit Westerns.

Deb, I remember Mitchell Ryan back to a show that was on when I was very young called CHASE.

John, really enjoyed your thoughts on Samantha, especially as I love the show and the character so much myself. It would definitely be fun to see THE ISLANDERS!

And of course it's so touching in retrospect that Caftan Woman's last post proved to be on MAVERICK, and Diane Brewster.

Best wishes,
Laura
